Amrah Aliyu
Amrah Aliyu is a passionate development practitioner, global goodwill ambassador, and advocate for gender inclusion and youth empowerment. With a background in Media Advocacy and governance, she has spearheaded transformative initiatives aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and uplifting marginalized communities. As the Team Lead, of the *Salma Attah Foundation for Women and Girls Support (SAFWGS)*, Amrah has led groundbreaking programs such as the *Kallabi Leadership Fellowship,* the first of its kind in Niger State, which equips young women with leadership skills and governance tools. Her work also includes the *Periods Without Limits* campaign, which has reached over 5,000 girls in underserved communities with menstrual hygiene resources . Amrah has served as a panelist and speaker at high-profile events locally and globally where she has inspired audiences as a TEDx speaker and as a panelist on issues ranging from social media’s role in policy engagement to leveraging partnerships for development. Her contributions to development have earned her recognition as one of The Future Awards Africa nominees and inclusion in the 25 Women Redefining Leadership in Northern Nigeria also as a recipient of the *Oby Ezekwesili Women Advocacy Award.* Her approach to development combines grassroots advocacy, strategic partnerships, and storytelling, believing that sustainable change begins with inclusive representation and empowerment. Beyond Activism, Amrah is an author. Her poetry collection, Breasts Are Names of Flowers,is a reflective exploration of identity, resilience, and societal change, showcasing her ability to merge art with activism. Amrah's work is driven by a vision of a world where equity and opportunity are accessible to all, regardless of gender or background.
