About The Speaker
Dr Onyeche Elisabeth Agbiti-Douglas
Onyeche Elisabeth Agbiti-Douglas is a passionate advocate for youth leadership development, civic participation, and inclusive governance in Nigeria and across Africa. As Director for the Nigeria Youth Future Fund (NYFF) at LEAP Africa, she leads strategic initiatives that strengthen youth voices, expand civic engagement, and build the capacity of young leaders to influence governance and policy processes. Her work currently focuses on creating enabling systems for young Nigerians to engage meaningfully in democratic governance—from advancing accountability and open governance to supporting youth-led advocacy, leadership training, and institutional partnerships that deepen participatory development. Elisabeth brings over a decade of experience in development communication, policy advocacy, and project management within Nigeria’s international development and humanitarian sectors. She has contributed to diverse thematic areas, including governance reform, youth inclusion, gender equity, and private sector collaboration for sustainable development. She holds a PhD in Development Communication, with a thesis that explores how news and social media shape public perceptions of female political leadership in Nigeria’s 2023 general elections. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Elisabeth is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration. Elisabeth continues to champion evidence-based decision-making, cross-sector collaboration, and youth-driven innovation as catalysts for Nigeria’s democratic renewal and sustainable development.
